NFL Week 14 Thursday Preview

NFL Week 14 Thursday Preview:
Cleveland Browns at Pittsburgh Steelers

I wouldn't expect this to be the most exciting game, especially for fantasy football owners.

Pittsburgh was less than great against a weak and struggling Tampa Bay defense. The presence of Willie Parker has been almost non-existent. Big Ben has been so-so, and should produce about the same as he did last week. 200 yards 2 TDs and an INT sounds about right for this game against the Cleveland Browns.
Hines Ward
is going to be OUT again in this week. Ben's main targets should be Nate Washington and his TE's. Heath Miller is a must start if you are debating on your TE. He should be good for a few catches and a touchdown.
I suppose you have to go with Willie Parker against a Browns rushing defense that is giving up 131 yards per game. Santonio Holmes will be starting with Ward out and he may also be a decent spot start if you need a fill-in. Last time they played the Browns, Holmes was 5 for 75 and a TD.

Start: Heath Miller; Big Ben+Willie Parker are moderate starts; Nate Washington is a spot start if you need a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th WR. Consider Holmes as well for deeper leagues.
Sit: Hines Ward

Cleveland is coming off an overtime win vs the Kansas City Chiefs, from the arm of Derek Anderson, not Charlie Frye. Anderson may be the answer Cleveland has been looking for offensively. They have the tools to produce decent numbers and just haven't been getting it done. Even if Frye gets the nod to start, I wouldn't play him in this game (or ever really). Droughns had a decent fantasy game against KC with 70 yards and a TD, but I don't see him getting that in Pittsburgh, maybe 50 yards.
It was Steve Heiden not Kellen Winslow catching the touchdown passes last week, but I wouldn't read too much into it. Pittsburgh may have trouble covering Winslow with all the secondary injuries and he should be a strong fantasy start in this game. B. Edwards should be another decent start here. If he keeps out of the media spotlight I think he will do better, keep your mouth shut and play.
Cleveland won't be able to win this game rushing the ball. If Frye plays he is a sit, if Anderson plays he may be a moderate okay start, let's see what he can do with a whole game.

Start: Winslow and Edwards
Sit: Frye, Heiden, and Droughns
