Thursday Game Preview (Week 15)

NFL WEEK 15 Thursday Game Preview

San Francisco 49ers
Last week San Francisco failed to get any serious rhythm going against a weak Green Bay defense. San Francisco doesn't have much to play for, I guess, but that isn't much of an excuse. Alex Smith should not be on your roster, or in the game for you, for the rest of the season. He just can't be counted on for you in the playoffs or any other type of game. Now Gore on the other hand is a must start every week. He is good for 100+ yards and a TD. Seattle's rushing defense is decent, but shouldn't hold back Gore. Vernon Davis seems to be back and healthy enough to be the main receiving target. I hadn't even heard he was back healthy again. He might be someone to consider this week if you are really strapped at tight end, he should be available on the waiver wire.

Start: Gore and V Davis
Sit: Everyone else, Alex Smith, Battle, Bryant
Eric Johnson is OUT for this game if you have him for some reason

Seattle Seahawks
Seattle had a tough time against Arizona last week. Arizona pulled the upset 27-21. Hasselbeck played well and should continue that against the 49ers. Last week he was 20 of 28 for 243 yards and 3 TDs. Shaun Alexander on the other hand was held to 76 yards and he fumbled. Not what you would expect, that hurt a few owners I'm sure last week. He's been a tough fantasy player all year but now that you probably don't need him to come through for you he will. Definite start! Remember, Darrell Jackson is OUT tomorrow against the 49ers with a toe injury, so get him out of your starting lineup. This could benefit Deion Branch who's been quiet lately. Last time they played the 49ers he had 7 catches for 113 yards and a TD. Both teams are different since playing last so take that into consideration.

Start: Hasselbeck, Alexander, Branch
Sit: D Jackson, Stevens, and Morris of course
